Educational Verifications

As an integral part of credentials verification, the goal of education verifications is to validate what a candidate has presented in his biography or resume. Typically for Check Fund Manager (CFM) to attempt such verifications, we first need to know which school or university was attended. For many institutions, the signed consent of the student is required to release a record confirming their reported degree. Most background investigation companies will ask you for a copy of this consent. CFM however, is different. For almost all US-based institutions, CFM is able to verify a past degree without obtaining the consent of the student. Keep in mind that some students place a BLOCK on their records making them unobtainable.

However, obtaining degree verifications outside of the US is a different matter. In general, we are able to obtain verifications of degrees received in Canada and the UK with signed consent. Please bear in mind that the policies and procedures at educational institutions differ from one institution to the next, and this differentiation is often more restrictive in nature. Some European schools reject generic forms and require that you have the student sign their own consent forms. Some even require a copy of the student's passport. Even after complying with these extraordinary measures, the success rate of verifications outside the US, UK, and Canada is low. Beware of competitors who claim to be able to verify these degrees, when in actuality they often end up using the candidate's biography or an unsubstantiated online reference as "verification".
